Privacy Policy
Privacy is built into the design of ResumeNest, not added on top. The core app runs locally in your browser, has no account system, and needs no application database. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data and the controls you have.
1. Information You Enter
When you type your name, contact information, work history, education, skills, projects, or other resume content into the builder, that information is used to generate the live preview and your exported file. In the static version of ResumeNest, this content is not intentionally sent to a ResumeNest backend, because the app does not require one. The processing happens on your own device.
2. No Account, No Profile
The core app has no sign-up, login, or user profile. You do not need to provide an email address, name, or password to build or download a resume. Because there is no account system, ResumeNest does not maintain a database that links your identity to your resume drafts.
3. Local Browser Storage
To remember your work between visits, the builder may use browser storage such as localStorage to save drafts, preferences, selected templates, and styling choices on the same device. This data lives in your browser, not on a ResumeNest server. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to view locally saved drafts, so avoid using a shared device for sensitive data unless you clear browser storage afterward.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
ResumeNest itself uses minimal or no first-party cookies for the core builder experience. If a site owner enables advertising networks, analytics, or embedded third-party content, those providers may set their own cookies or use similar technologies (such as local or session storage). You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and many browsers let you delete them automatically when you close the window.
5. Ads, Analytics & Third Parties
The admin panel can manage ad placements or custom HTML snippets. If a site owner adds advertising networks, analytics scripts, embedded content, or other third-party code, those providers may collect information (such as IP address, device type, or browsing activity) according to their own privacy policies. ResumeNest cannot control third-party processing added by a site operator, who is responsible for lawful configuration and any disclosures required in their jurisdiction.
6. Exports & Shared Links
If you download a PDF, copy a share link, or manually send your resume content elsewhere, that action is controlled by you. Shared links may include encoded resume data depending on the feature used, so treat them as sensitive and send them only to people you trust. Once you export or share a document, it is outside ResumeNest’s control.
7. Avoid Sensitive Data
You should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive personal information — government identification numbers, financial account details, health records, passwords, or anything not genuinely needed for a resume. Only include information you are comfortable sharing with employers or recruiters.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Because drafts are stored locally, ResumeNest does not hold your resume content on its own servers to delete. To remove your data, simply clear your browser’s site data or localStorage for this site, or use your browser’s “clear browsing data” feature. Any data already exported as a file remains your responsibility to manage.
9. Your Rights (GDPR & Similar Laws)
If you are in a region with data-protection laws such as the EU/EEA or UK GDPR, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, and objection. Because ResumeNest does not centrally collect your resume data, most of these rights apply to data stored on your own device, which you control directly. Where a site operator enables third-party processors (ads, analytics), those providers act as independent controllers or processors under their own policies.
10. Children’s Privacy
ResumeNest is intended for users creating career documents. It is not directed at children under the age at which they would lawfully seek employment or education opportunities in their jurisdiction. If you believe a minor has entered personal data inappropriately, clearing the browser storage on the device will remove it.
11. International Use
ResumeNest can be used from many countries. When you use the app, your resume content stays in your browser regardless of where you are. Any third-party scripts a site operator enables may transfer data internationally according to their own terms; please review their policies if this matters to you.
12. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy over time and will reflect the change in the “Last updated” date. Because the app is privacy-first by design, material changes are expected to be rare. Please re-read this page after significant updates before relying on it.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. In the static version of ResumeNest, the resume content you type is not intentionally sent to a ResumeNest backend. The preview is generated and the PDF is exported locally, right inside your browser.
Because drafts are stored in your browser’s localStorage, deleting them is simple: clear this site’s data or localStorage in your browser settings, or use “Clear browsing data.” Nothing about your draft is held on a ResumeNest server for us to delete.
The core builder uses minimal or no first-party cookies. If a site operator enables advertising or analytics, those third parties may set their own cookies, which you can block or delete through your browser settings.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, GDPR-style rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection) apply. Because ResumeNest does not centrally collect your resume data, these rights mostly cover data on your own device, which you control directly. Third-party processors added by a site operator act under their own policies.
Anyone with access to the same browser profile could view a locally saved draft. If you build on a shared device, clear the site’s localStorage or browser data when you finish, or use a private/incognito window so nothing is retained after you close it.
Avoid entering details that a resume does not need — such as government ID numbers, bank details, health records, or passwords. Only include information you are comfortable sharing with employers or recruiters.
